The newest addition to the small business district on Cloverdale rd and the old A&P building, is Kudzu Noodle Bar. The space has been completely remodeled in a style that I can only assume is intended to evoke a sort of NYC coolness, and it does. The small space features intimate seating in a sleek design, ramen bowls have been strategically placed on the wall in a symmetrical pattern, and Asian action films are constantly streamed on one of the walls.
I ordered the Vegan Ramen and a Honey Ginger Tea and was very pleased with the tea. A word of advice, order extra noodles and add spice to your ramen if you are a fan of flavor. This establishment is still fairly new and is working out details, so I will give them another try. I do think that the prices are a bit steep for what you get. After all, ramen is what most college graduates have to thank their life for – It is not an expensive food.
Seating is available outside, an amenity sure to draw a crowd on a warm spring day or a cool summer night. The presence of a cool, modern, Asian inspired eatery in the otherwise traditional and historical Cloverdale, seems to draw a younger crowd. The ramen dishes are the main focus of the restaurant, they also serve springrolls, wings, steamed buns and a starter salad. If you are thirsty, Kudzu Noodle Bar offers a variety of beverages, both alcoholic ad non-alcoholic. The Cloverdale Cup Cocktails, a 32 oz beverage in a large to go cup, is sure to be a favorite.
Kudzu Noodle Bar is the place for you if you enjoy Asian inspired dishes with a southern flare.
